Everything you need to know about requesting an assessment, tracking progress, and understanding your deliverables.

Describing your system

The most important input is a clear description of the system you want understood — what it is, what it does, and what you care about. A focused brief means a focused assessment: less noise, faster review, and a model aimed at the questions that matter to you.

Tell us the kind of system (for example an air-handling unit, a pumping station, or a packaging machine), the platform it runs on (the PLC or controller family), and what you most need — a working understanding, a risk and obsolescence picture, a specification to rebuild from, or verification that a replacement matches. You don't need to know the code; you know what the system is for.

What to provide

The richer the inputs, the richer the model. Most assessments start from some combination of:

  • The control program — a PLCopen XML export, the project source, or the files your engineering tool produces. Daritas reads vendor-neutral formats first, and adds support for vendor formats as customers ask for them.
  • Schematics and drawings — P&IDs, electrical or wiring diagrams, and I/O lists.
  • Any documentation — manuals, functional descriptions, change notes, or even the tribal knowledge currently in someone's head.

Don't have everything? Start with the control program alone — the model is built from the code first, and every other input simply sharpens it.

Choosing a scope

Scope sets how deep the assessment goes. You can start small and go deeper later — each level builds on the one below it.

Every scope includes the interactive model and document exports. Higher scopes add depth of verification and additional deliverables.

Scoping preview

Before you commit, Daritas surveys what you've provided and shows you a preview of the assessment landscape — so you can see what's there before paying. This appears as a step after you review your order.

  • System inventory — the systems, programs, and units found in your files, and how they relate to each other.
  • Summary — a short, AI-generated description of what the codebase appears to contain and how large the job is.
  • Key components — the most significant parts of the system, so you can confirm we're looking at the right thing.
  • Scope assessment — Focused / Well-scoped / Large, with an explanation and a recommended scope.

If the job is Large, you can narrow it — pick a subsystem or a single program — and re-run the preview without losing your progress.

Need maximum IP protection? The obfuscation add-on lets a reviewer verify your logic without ever seeing your proprietary names — they are swapped for neutral identifiers before review and restored in the final model. Before anything reaches a reviewer, you preview the obfuscated source in a diff view — search it and adjust what stays hidden or gets exposed, with AI suggestions — and nothing proceeds until you accept it. Because anonymized names make the review more demanding, it carries a premium and is offered on the Verified and Advanced scopes. You can obfuscate the code alone, or the code together with its documentation so the cross-references stay intact.

Talk to an advisor

At any point during the order process (after the first step), you can click 💬 Talk to an advisor. This shares your in-progress draft with our team.

  • You'll receive a welcome message from Daritas AI in a dedicated chat thread, followed by a human advisor joining shortly.
  • The advisor can view and edit your form in real time — changes sync instantly in both directions.
  • Only you can place the order — the advisor cannot trigger payment on your behalf.
  • You can revoke advisor access at any time by clicking “Revoke” in the confirmation banner.

After you submit

Once payment is confirmed via Stripe, your assessment is created and moves through the following stages:

  • Submitted — your assessment is in the queue, awaiting confirmation.
  • Surveying — Daritas surveys and condenses the codebase, then extracts the system's behaviours — each one grounded to the exact source that supports it.
  • Assigned — a qualified automation engineer has been assigned to review and verify the model.
  • In review — the reviewer checks the model against the evidence, resolves ambiguities, and signs off. The reviewer is named and accountable.
  • Delivered — your model is ready. You'll receive a notification with access links.

Turnaround depends on the size of the system and the scope you chose; you'll see an estimate at the preview stage.

Your deliverables

Interactive model

The primary deliverable — an explorable map of the system: components, behaviours, dependencies, and risks, with every claim linked to the exact source that supports it. Built for navigating a large system, and for showing a colleague exactly what a claim rests on.

Document exports

From the model, select any part and generate clean Markdown, Word, or PDF documents — a function description, an operator-facing summary, a risk register — for internal discussion, audits, or handover.

Structured export

Your model in an open, documented, machine-readable format you own — so the knowledge stays portable and integrates with your own systems. Yours to keep.

Billing

Daritas uses direct payment via Stripe. The final price (scope + any add-ons) is shown on the Scoping Preview screen before you click “Continue to payment.” Your assessment is created only after payment is confirmed.
